TGIF

I am so glad it's Friday.

Tonight G and I are going to see Watchmen at the IMAX theatre (local AMC). Movies are our thing... and I think we see a movie every 1-2 weeks! I think the movie looks good and I'm excited to see it. I hate that I've already heard reviews of people not liking it. People are too overly critical about movies and it drives me crazy!

E flew to Seattle this morning after booking a flight last night. KK, who flew to Denver last Wednesday and was at the cabin last weekend with us, invited him to go to to Whistler to spend the week with her and her family. E has know her for about a month and a couple weeks now... but he wanted to go. I guess I can't judge him, seeing that I decided to move with G from California to South Carolina after I knew him for three weeks. (That's a whole other post...)

What does this mean for me?

I have the whole flippen' house to myself all weekend. G has to work during the days on Saturday and Sunday and I think K does too. Either way, I am hoping for a quite weekend where I can do my thing without having to work around, move around, talk around another human being. I talk on the phone for eight hours a day... and frankly, I don't care if I go from the time I wake up on Saturday until I see G in the afternoon without talking. Well, I talk to the dogs, but that doesn't really count as carrying on a conversation.

On a random side note - I am ready to have children. G needs to hurry up and be ready... my bilogical clock is ticking and I'm sooooo ready.

He's Just Not That Into You

Shhh, I'm not supposed to tell, but G took me out on our "date night" (because we never have any alone time anymore, everrrrrr) to see He's Just Not That Into You.

The previews made it look awesome (at least to me it did), but while I did enjoy the movie a lot, it still didn't like it as much as I thought I was going to.

It was super cute though and it had an ending I hope G picked up on. (Hint, hint babe: Ben Afflek's character!)

Tomorrow is G's sister, K.M's, birthday. She'll be 26. Quite the old hag... juuuuuust kidding!

She said she wants to go and see a movie (probably Coraline) and go get fries up in Boulder at Spud Bros. YUM!

G has to work Saturday and Sunday (insert sad face here). So Saturday will be spent with K.M. on her b-day and Sunday might be spent with K.H. getting pedicures. I sure do need one with this dry weather and with my feet being shoved in snowboarding boots every weekend.

Eh, my life is boring, what can I say.

Gran Torino.

The bf and I went and saw Gran Torino last night (after painting an accent wall in our family room!).

I thought the movie was fantastic. In fact, it may be my favorite movie of the year. Last year it was, P.S. I Love You, which most people hated. I assure you though, this is a great movie.

Not only does it have a great story line, but Clint Eastwood's character builds through the movie, and it's not your typical "happy ending" movie. It doesn't end the way you think it would, not to mention, did anyone realize what this movie was actually about based on the preview?

I sure didn't and I was pleasantly surprised.

Clint Eastwood's character is an untouchable man. But through the movie he meets people that touch him. You see him change from a hardened, angry man to a person who no longer only thinks of himself.

I can't say too much of course without giving it away, but I will say that the movie is intense, humorous, a picture of the world we really do live in today, and lastly, sad.

I also might add - if you're easily offended by words like "chink," "goon," etc... skip this movie. It's used in good humor, and I found it fitting to Eastwood's character, but some may disagree.

I think my favorite line may have been, "Hey Dragon Lady, get me a beer."
