Dah, dah, dah... ...

This will be a r.a.n.d.o.m. post.

First on the list: I like country music. This morning I heard a song by Brad Paisley called "I'm Still a Guy." (Apparently it's an old song, but I don't care.) Too funny and totally cute! I think that's why I like about country music. Songs can be funny, sad, goofy, sappy, heart felt... anything! Here are the lyrics:

When you see a deer you see Bambi
And I see antlers up on the wall
When you see a lake you think picnic
And I see a large mouth up under that log

You're probably thinking that you're going to change me
In some ways well maybe you might
Scrub me down, dress me up but no matter what
I'm still a guy

When you see a priceless French painting
I see a drunk, naked girl
You think that riding a wild bull sounds crazy
And I'd like to give it a whirl

Well love makes a man do some things he ain't proud of
And in a weak moment I might
Walk your sissy dog, hold your purse at the mall
But remember, I'm still a guy

I'll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around knock some jerk to the ground
'Cause he copped a feel as you walked by

I can hear you now talking to your friends
Saying, "Yeah girls he's come a long way"
From dragging his knuckles and carrying a club
And building a fire in a cave

But when you say a back rub means only a back rub
Then you swat my hand when I try
Well, what can I say at the end of the day
Honey, I'm still a guy

I'll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around knock some jerk to the ground
'Cause he copped a feel as you walked by

These days there's dudes getting facials
Manicured, waxed and botoxed
With deep spray-on tans and creamy lotiony hands
You can't grip a tackle box

With all of these men lining up to get neutered
It's hip now to be feminized
I don't highlight my hair
I've still got a pair
Yeah honey, I'm still a guy

Oh my eyebrows ain't plucked
There's a gun in my truck
Oh thank God, I'm still a guy

Continued from my like of country music, has anyone else listened to the new Rascal Flatts album. It's awesome. I'm a HUGE Rascal Flatts fan, and I especially love this song. It's sad, but it hits home. It's called Why:

It must a been a place so dark, couldn't feel the light
Reachin' for you through that stormy cloud
Now here we are gathered in our little home town
This can't be the way you meant to draw a crowd

Oh why that's what I keep askin'
Was there anything I could have said or done
Oh I, had no clue you were masking, a troubled soul, God only knows
What went wrong, and why you'd leave the stage in the middle of a song

Now in my mind I keep you frozen as a seventeen year old
Rounding third to score the winning run
You always played with passion, no matter what the game
When you took the stage you shined just like the sun

Oh why that's what I keep askin'
Was there anything I could have said or done
Oh I, had no clue you were masking, a troubled soul, oh God only knows
What went wrong, and why you'd leave the stage in the middle of a song

Now the oak trees are swayin' in the early autumn breeze
The golden sun is shining on my face
The tangled thoughts I hear a mockingbird sing
This old world really ain't that bad a place

Oh why, there's no comprehending
And who am I to try to judge or explain
Oh but I, do have one burning question
Who told you life, wasn't worth the fight
They were wrong
They lied
Now you're gone
And we cried

Cause it's not like you, to walk away, in the middle of a song

Your beautiful song
Your absolutely beautiful song

Secondly, does anyone else out there believe in pheromones? I'll tell you, G seems more attracted to me, and I tend to get more compliments from males during my days of ovulation. It's weird!

Next, I have noticed that when I wear heels, I walk so much slower! Is this because the step is shorter because of the heel being elevated? It's SO frustrating!

Another random - I LOVE Ann Taylor Loft's clothes. Someone please gift me a gift cert. so I can stop my brains out at the store... pretty please?!

Oh! G and I planted some items in our garden last night! We planted strawberries, cherry tomatoes, big tomatoes, red peppers, green peppers, oregano, chives, mint, and red onions. We're still debating what else we'd like to put there. We have quite a bit of space for a garden... so we have quite a few options. Some other things we're considering are cucumbers, blackberries, and some more herbs! I also think we're going to put a (small) lime plant out on the front porch by the door, as well as a couple hanging baskets with some geraniums. We're also going to put some bulbed flowers (Lilys, Tulips, and Daffodils) in the planter boxes. I love it!

I have to add how impressed I am with G. He is such a handy person! He has fixed our (old) washer AND dryer (he replaced the belt and the heating element). He took off the old exhaust system on his car and installed the new one. He has fixed multiple things on my beater Jeep. He can fix any computer problem. He can wire anything. And now, he's good at working in the yard. His skills are impressive! There really isn't anything he can't do and I'm glad to say that unless our toilet explodes all over the bathroom, we won't ever have to call for outside help! :) I'm lucky.

Well, that's all the randomness I have for now.... maybe I'll think of something to add later!

We finally have a picture together in front of our house!

If I'm 5'7", how tall is G?

Roommates.

Right now G's sister is living with us. She has been cohabitating with us since mid-October.

Now one of G's best friends, E, from the "boys have a penis, girls have a vagina" years, is moving in.

In one sense I don't feel like our new house is a home. Here we are, brand new homeowners, and we're sharing it with two other people. Our two extra bedrooms are occupied and once again I don't have anywhere for my family to sleep should they want to come and visit. Shit, I might as well be living in an box that we called our apartment. It's really quite frustrating. Then there's utility bills, which are rediculously high and for which we're not receiving any compensation for.

I know if it were my family or my friend(s), I would do anything to help them out too... but how I would love to just have our house be our home.

I'm just past that age of having a roommate and having the tolerance to live with people outside of my love bubble.

I just want G. I want G to be my husband and I want to turn E's future room into a nursery (one day).

Yes, I'm getting ahead of myself because G would probably drop dead if I said that I was pregnant. I wish I was though!

I know these things that I want, and want to feel, will come in time... but I'm ready for it now.

Our freshly pained accent wall, with our dog Bailey modeling it.

Blergh.

We're almost completely moved in.

There are a couple of things we left at the apartment that we need to grab, one being my fish!

Here's the living room so far:

Moving... Gah!

On Wednesday we closed on our first home! It is so exciting and a very hard concept to accept... or believe. We own our own home. We don't rent from anyone anymore!

Today is the day...

we become homeowners.

1pm won't come fast enough...

and moving won't come slow enough. I keep telling myself that this is the last time, for a long time.

What we got...

So Saturday we went and bought our living room furniture.

We still need to get stuff for our bedroom and stuff for MFG's sister's room. We also need to get a washer and dryer. Those are really important and we kind of forgot about them this weekend. Whoops.

I think I'm going to get MK a day bed for her room. The room is on the smaller side and if I eliminate the idea of getting a trundel to go underneath, she'll have some storage space, and by going with the daybed, we will have room for a dresser, night stand etc. Although I'd like to get a nice daybed, I'm a little weary of her dog chewing on it (he's managed to chew on one of our dining room chairs, our papasan chair, and her very expensive, super cute purse), so I think I might opt for a nice metal frame that he can't chew. We'll see.

For now, since this has taken me hours to get this far, which is so little, I'll leave you with some pictures of what we got! We also got an end table, but I couldn't find a picture of it. And yes, the couches are brown and the rest of the stuff if black. The bf picked out the couch and insisted it will be okay. Yeah, we'll see!

Packing.

I am starting to pack up our apartment.

This will be move number three in under a year, technically.

Last year at this time, well December 15th, we were moving into our third apartment in the same apartment complex we'd been in for close to four years. Last year, we were lame-o's and didn't get a Christmas tree. How lame is that? Actually, it was more sad than lame, but now I can't wait for this year!

Move number two was here to Colorado, May 29th - June 1st.

Now, here we are, the beginning of December and we're closing on our house on Wednesday! So, technically move number three in under a year. Ugh.

Luckily, this will be our last move for a long time.

While I'm trying to get this done, I'm watching P.S. I Love You, which is probably one of my most favorite movies up there with Beaches, partly because Gerard Butler is hot! But anyway, why is it that two of the saddest movies, are two of my favorites, and most people dislike both.

Okay, enough dawdling, back to packing. Gah!

Our new home.

Well, it will be on December 10th. Merry Christmas to us! I can't wait!
